Actress Jessica Biel is reportedly dating her ex-flame, singer-actor Justin Timberlake.

The pair, who split earlier this year, were seen enjoying a romantic rendezvous at Ella's Uncle coffee shop in Toronto, Canada, reports contactmusic.com.

Also, they were spending time together at a cafe over the weekend.

"They seemed so comfortable, happy and at ease (and) they literally couldn't stop staring and smiling at each other. Justin seemed completely smitten with Jessica, and she had this permanent smile on her face, and they joked around with each other," a source told Life and Style magazine.

Eid Mubarak, says Kim Kardashian

It's not only Bollywood which is celebrating Eid but some international celebrities are also wishing people on the occasion, including socialite Kim Kardashian.

"Eid Mubarak to my friends across the world. I can't wait to see you at Millions of Milkshakes in Dubai in October," Kim posted on micro-blogging site. Rapper will.i.am of the hip hop band The Black Eyed Peas also wished his fans. "Happy EID to everyone who celebrates...have a good day enshalla," he posted on his Twitter page. Back in India, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is planning to have a bash to celebrate the festival.

Mansoor's 'Bol' mirror to patriarchal Pakistan

New Delhi: Shoaib Mansoor's next film 'Bol' has already been acclaimed in Pakistan. Shoiab Mansoor, the brain behind some immensely successful television shows in Pakistan, is known for the brave comments he makes via his stories.A well known face in Pakistan's popular culture circuit, Mansoor is everything from writer to music composer to director.

He decided to be a film director with critically appreciated 'Khuda Kay Liye', in 2007.
Later, it was released in India too. KKL brought forth the issue of fundamentalism and the argument of its religious legitimacy to the forefront. The intense debate that takes place in the court room in between a maulana, played by none other than Naseeruddin Shah, and a militia leader, broke many myths about the Pakistani society and its leanings. Full of secularist approach, this debate was the director's take on the matter of hardcore faith following.

The other very important factor about the film is its female protagonist, who denies obeying by the extreme rules of a patriarchal society. Not only this, the breeding of extremist ideology and the true explanation of Islamic rules were also the constituents of the film.

Shoaib Mansoor portrayed the confused life of Pakistani youths in a very convincing manner. The film was hard hitting and full of captivating arguments about trivial but vital issues.
Not many of the Pakistani filmmakers are known world wide, but Shoaib Mansoor, popularly known as ShoMan, is making his presence felt.

Mansoor's latest venture 'Bol' has already crashed all box office records in Pakistan, and going by the enthusiasm it has generated in multiplex going crowd in India, it seems that the business prospects are bright for the film.Bol, again has a female protagonist who fights for the rights of a girl child. The film exposes the paradoxes prevailing in an orthodox patriarchal society, where people are still not free from the clutches of class and caste problems.

Popular singer Atif Aslam is making silver screen debut with Bol, but the film belongs to the character of Zainub, played by Humaima Malik, who never forgives the father for killing her hermaphrodite, a person with the reproductive organs of both male and female, brother.

The family is under severe financial pressure, but the father refuses to understand the situation due to high brow attitude. The false sense of class pride eventually takes a batter from all sides but the man does not recognize it, in fact he becomes more brutal and starts doing all sorts of misbehaves with the family members.
The emotional saga ends with Zainub's hanging but leaves a lot of burning questions to be answered by the society.

Mansoor's strength as a director lies in the transformation of characters from one shade to another in a fluid manner. The transition seems completely natural on the screen but it remains with the audience for a long period. Many times the audience gets confused that which part of the character they should believe. Mansoor shows different facets of any character in the same breath, leaving the viewer wondering about their own ideologies.

Solution to a major cultural problem, which was terrorism, backed by strong religious arguments was the prime plot in Khuda Kay Liye. This time again, Mansoor seems to have an impartial look at another social evil of Pakistan.

Beyonce's pregnancy reveal breaks Twitter record: Why do we care so much?

When Beyoncé unbuttoned her purple sequined jacket Sunday night at the MTV’s 2011 Video Music Awards and revealed that she has something baking in her oven—her first child, to be exact—the building roared in celebration.

If you weren’t at Nokia Theater L.A. Live to experience it in person, the next best thing was logging on to your choice social network and shooting off your reaction. For millions, Twitter was their first destination.
Techland reports that fans hopped on the medium to express their shock, happiness, and such at a rate of 8,868 tweets per second. That beats news of Osama Bin Laden’s death in May, which drew in 5,106 tweets per second, and the Super Bowl, which earned 4,064 tweets.

Crazy, right? The question is why did so many people care so much? Well, for one, people looooooove them some Beyoncé. She’s a major pop star who, unlike most of her peers, has managed to steer clear of celeb shenanigans. Add the fact that she’s married to Jay-Z, arguably the best rapper ever, and that they both keep the details of their life together on the hush-hush and bam, here’s the answer: We’ve never seen them so excited to let a secret out of the bag! Watch them let it go after the jump:

Miranda launches anti-suicide drive

Supermodel Miranda Kerr has launched a TV campaign in a bid to prevent youngsters committing suicide, after her family was rocked by tragedy.

Orlando Bloom’s wife was left devastated when her cousin took his life in 2009 and she has been vocal in her bid to raise suicide prevention awareness. Kerr, along with her mother, father and brother, launched an Australian TV campaign for the Too Many, Too Soon Kids Helpline over the weekend, and the star has urged troubled youngsters to use the phone network to seek help and advice. She says, “The sadness of losing someone, especially in these circumstances, is something we live with and we continually question how it could be prevented. “There’s not really a great awareness about the services available to kids and that’s why I’m behind this great cause. If we can reach just one child and let them know there is someone out there who wants to listen, that could help to save their life. I believe if my cousin had known of Kids Helpline it may well have saved his life.”

Celina Jaitley marries partner Peter Haag in Austria

Celina Jaitley has announced that she got married last week.

The Bollywood actor told her Twitter followers that she wed partner Peter Haag in a private ceremony in Europe.

Jaitley posted: "With great pleasure I would like to announce my wedding with @peterhaag on the 23rd of last month at a thousand year old monastery in Austria.

"We seek your blessings and good wishes, and apologise for the delayed announcement due to a family tragedy."

The star also shared images from the ceremony, which saw Jaitley wearing a floral sari and holding a bouquet of red roses.

The performer recently denied reports that she was a lesbian, following her high-profile support of the gay rights movement in India.

Jaitley was rumoured to have secretly married her hotelier boyfriend at a ceremony in Dubai last year.

The model-turned-actor, whose image has been compared to US singer Katy Perry, was last seen in 2011 ensemble comedy Thank You.

Katrina Kaif's winning formula

Looks like Katrina Kaif has already learnt a lot from her experiences and has found a winning formula to find in peace.

She believes that the best way to go about is by not getting overly emotional . And that is one of the reasons she doesn't believe in taking pictures and documenting anything in life. "I don't click pictures. People carry camera with them while travelling, take pictures, keep them as memories, but I don't.

I don't even have a camera. I don't believe there is any point in holding on to too many things in life. In any case, I always have those memories etched in my head and heart and living with those thoughts everyday," she smiles. And Kat states a reason to stay detached. "With every film we form a small little world for a period of time. Everybody is close and then one fine day everything is over. That can throw you off. So you have to learn to take things in your stride and not get too emotional about people or situations." Source : indiatimes.com

Jada stole JLo’s hubby?

After news of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s split, reports that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are divorcing after 13 years of marriage spread like jungle fire on the Internet. In a strange turn of events, In Touch magazine has released its latest issue stating that Jada and Anthony are seeing each other, leading to Jada’s rumoured split with her star husband.

The headline of the magazine’s cover reads Two Marriages Destroyed: Jada Steals J.Lo’s Husband and they claim to have evidences such as photos and details from sources to back-up, reports the Christian Post.

In Touch claims that Smith surprised Jada at one of their LA homes and found her with Anthony. The magazine also goes on to claim that Jada moved out of their home the next day and Smith fired all the household staff for covering up the affair.

The couple, however, has denounced the rumours as baseless, stating their marriage is still intact and is reportedly suing the magazine for the story.

MTV video awards honor Britney Spears, Katy Perry

Pop star Lady Gaga opened the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday dressed in drag and singing her "You and I" while Britney Spears and Katy Perry took awards, but it may be Beyonce who stole the show.

The R&B singer whose hits include "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" appeared visibly pregnant as she showed up on the red carpet outside the show, posing for photographers and outlining a baby bump with her hands under her long gown.

Beyonce, who is married to rapper Jay-Z, avoided reporters waiting to ask whether she is pregnant. For years, her fans and the media have speculated whether and when the pair might have a baby.

Lady Gaga, who showed up last year at the MTV video awards in a dress made of raw meat, did an about face this year, opening the program in a man's dark suit and T-shirt as her male alter ego, Joe Calderon who gave the audience a lecture in just who Gaga is -- high heels, wild hair and crazy costumes.

"When she gets on stage, she holds nothing back," Calderon said.

Lady Gaga then launched into a version of "You and I," backed by a group of dancers and legendary rock guitarist Brian May of Queen. She danced on her piano and spewed beer from a bottle into the air in celebration.

The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) annually give out honors for the top music videos and performances to singers and bands, and each year, audiences can count on at least one surprise.

Beyonce's picture-perfect baby news will likely be this year's unexpected event.

But awards are the focus of the night and the first winner was Spears for best pop music video "Till the World Ends."

The pop star took the stage and seemed surprised, saying she hadn't expected to win and thanking her family and fans.

Along with Spears, Foo Fighters picked up an early honor for best rock video with "Walk," and Nicki Minaj picked up the "Moonman" winner's statuette for her "Super Bass." Katy Perry and Kanye West were named best collaboration with "E.T."

Another major award still to come is best new artist, and Tyler, The Creator figures prominently in that race, too, alongside Wiz Khalifa with "Black and Yellow," Kreayshawn for "Gucci Gucci," Foster the People with "Pumped Up Kicks," and Big Sean (featuring Chris Brown) for "My Last."

British singer Adele with her chart-topping song "Rolling in the Deep" is vying for the top award, video of the year, against Katy Perry ("Firework"), Bruno Mars ("Grenade"), the Beastie Boys ("Make Some Noise") and Tyler, The Creator ("Yonkers").

Early performances included a duet by Jay-Z and Kanye West, singing a song from their new album, "Watch the Throne."

Other singers still to come include Lil Wayne, and there will be special tributes to Britney Spears and late soul singer Amy Winehouse. (Reuters)

David Beckham 'hires armed guard to protect family'

David Beckham and his family are under protection from an armed guard, it has been claimed.

The footballer was shadowed by a minder, thought to be an off-duty policeman, as he played with his three sons on Malibu Beach in LA recently, the Daily Star Sunday reports. The guard wore a holstered pistol, without its magazine of bullets.

"I can't comment on any individual case, but the practice of celebrities hiring off-duty officers for private security purposes is common practice here," a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Photographer Mike Kamara was approached by the armed guard while taking photographs of the family on the beach.

He said: "I didn't notice him at first. He kept in the background very discreetly. Within the space of a few frames he spotted me too. I saw him reach into another pocket and pull something out.

"It could have been his pistol magazine. It looked the right size and shape but I couldn't tell. As he walked towards me, I saw his hand hovering over his still-holstered pistol, the way cops do when they are on high alert approaching a potentially dangerous situation.

"He asked who I was and what I was doing. When I told him, he said, 'Mr Beckham would like to spend the rest of the day with just his boys'."

A spokesman for David and Victoria said that armed bodyguards were common in America.

Salman Khan to be treated for nerve disorder

Actor Salman Khan is heading out to the US next week to treat a nerve disorder he was diagnosed with earlier this month.

Khan, 45, whose ‘Bodyguard’ opens in cinemas next week, will be in the US for treatment after the film's release.

"It's a non-surgical procedure and doctors have told I'll be back to work within four days," Khan told.

The actor had been suffering from pain in his jaw and the condition was recently diagnosed as trigeminal neuralgia.

"It's been happening for the past 4-5 years and just got diagnosed this month," Khan told.

Khan is known for his box-office dominance over the Eid weekend. His biggest hits in the last few years have come during this period, with ‘Dabanng’ being 2010’s blockbuster.

Khan is also scheduled to do a number of big-ticket films, including ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ with Katrina Kaif. With the success of ‘Ready’ in June, he cemented his place as a star who can pretty much guarantee box-office success with his charisma. (Reuters)

Tusshar Kapoor holds her sari by one end and Vidya swirls away from him stripping off her sari.

The film, directed by Milan Luthria, will be released on December 2 which is Smitha's birth date. Ekta Kapoor (producer) refers to her as one of the muses in the film. Ekta told HT: "It's a beautiful coincidence since she is one of our muses, along with other Southern actors like Shakeela, Nylon Nandini and Polyester Padmini."

"My film is not inspired by any one of them, but is a reflection of an era when they used their sexuality to carve a niche for themselves in the male-dominated South film industry. Many frowned upon them, but they were survivors and their power over the masses cannot be denied," she added.

The Dirty Picture is touted to be Ekta's boldest film till date leaving behind Ragini MMS, Shor In The City and Love Sex Aur Dhokha.

Stallone and Schwarzenegger in film stand off

Hollywood's screen rivals --Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger are likely to clash over the title of the next Rambo movie. The script for the latest installment in the action series is complete and has been named as Rambo: The Last Stand.

And the former Californian governor, who is set to make his action return in the similarly titled Last Stand is likely to have a clash over the same title, reported Sun online. The Terminator star announced the movie in April and now Rambo screenwriter Sean Hood has revealed the script for the fifth movie is complete, although Stallone is yet to commit.

"I recently finished a first draft of Rambo: Last Stand for Millennium films, based on a story idea by Sylvester Stallone. Hopefully, Stallone will eventually have the time and the inclination to do another Rambo. I met with Stallone twice last year. He gave me a book, an older screenplay, and about twenty pages he'd written himself to use as inspiration for the last chapter of the Rambo saga. It's more in line with the small-town thriller of First Blood," said Hood.

Before embarking on their respective shoots, the aging action heroes will be working together on the sequel to last year's hit movie The Expendables.

Rihanna spends over 3000 a day on booze!

Rihanna is said to have drunk her way through her relaxing no-expense-spared holiday to St Tropez, Cannes and Italy’s Portofino and Sardinia.

The 23-year-old singer splashed out 200,000 pounds to hire a yacht for herself and her pals, drinking the boat dry by spending almost 3000 pounds a day on Champagne and meals as well as tipping waiters around 100 euros a time.

“The crew ordered the maximum amount of Laurent-Perrier Champagne they thought a few girls could down in a week, but they drank it all in just over a day,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“By midday on Monday they had sunk 12 bottles."

“On their nights out they ordered Moet and Chandon Champagne, Grey Goose vodka and Red Bull, each bill going into thousands,” the source stated.

The Barbadian R and B recording artist is finally back after her relaxing holiday, and is expected at the MTV Music Video Awards in LA.

Charlize reveals adoption plans

Charlize Theron is desperate to have a baby. The 36 year old actress has ditched her boyfriend of 10 years, Stuart Townsend, and is ready to adopt a baby. Theron tells Germany’s In Touch magazine, “I want a baby. If it would happen tomorrow I would be very happy.”

When asked if she would consider adopting as a single mother she said, “Why Not? I’m open to everything in life.” Charlize has previously spoken out about adoption when she said, “There are so many unwanted children on this earth and it’s our job to care for them. And if we don’t we’re doing the world a disservice.” But in this day and age if a single woman wants a baby, she should get a baby.

'James Bond' Shoot stuck in India

The shooting of a new "James Bond" movie in India has been stalled after the production house couldn't get the permission to shoot.

The makers of the movie, tentatively titled "Bond 23", wanted to shoot high-speed stunts on the Indian Railways.

However, they could not get the permissions due to safety issues and as a result director Sam Mendes is now looking for alternative locations.

"It has been one thing after another. The scenes are very ambitious and we're all just desperate to get started but there have been obstacles at every stage," mirror.co.uk quoted a production insider as saying.

India's railways minister Dinesh Trivedi has now decided to "look into the matter", but added: "I can't jeopardize the safety of passengers."

The shooting is likely to move to South Africa, where producers already have permission to shoot some scenes, but not until January.

Shabri (Movie Review)

Life can be tougher that we can ever imagine in certain alleys and corners of this city. Hundreds of people go through endless struggles just to make ends meet. So a story about a woman stuck in such a situation resorting to murder to avenge the injustice done to her family should ideally hit a nerve. But, alas, Shabri is far from the gripping film it had the potential to be.

Shabri (Eesha Koppikar) runs a flour mill, and has a drunkard father, a self-sacrificing mother and a wayward brother Bandya for family. She is angry at her circumstances and with her brother Bandya, who tries making fast money through seedy matka operations.

The breaking point in Shabri's life comes when her brother Bandya gets into trouble with the cops and eventually dies after being tortured in police custody.

Seething with anger and unable to bear this family tragedy, she kills a cop. Murad (Raj Arjun), a local matka operator who holds a torch for Shabri, tries helping her escape the law and the clutches of the local don. He, in turn, gets murdered and she vows revenge yet again. A movie with all the ingredients for a powerful storyline you would think.

But wait. You want to show me reality? Then show it to me with the real colours of life. When Shabri fights with her brother for stealing her chappals, show me the blue of that Hawai chappal.

When Shabari lovingly reminds her mother that she need not work so hard making aam ka achar, show me the green of that raw mango.

If the whole canvas of the movie is painted in such a depressingly, dull brown colour, through which most people look ugly, you are forced to feel depressed. And no one likes being under that kind of pressure. That eerie background music does not help its cause either.

There are a few brilliant scenes in the film, which actually tempt you to get involved, but unfortunately the film lacks consistency. Koppikar as the tormented but gritty Shabri makes a good attempt. But her desperate effort to look plain and ugly shows.

She is made to look dark with inconsistent make up, but her eyebrows are perfectly plucked at all times. Pradeep Singh Rawat as the main villain is menacing, but his character, like that of the cop (Zakir Hussain), is ambiguous. Husain, however, makes the best of what is offered to him.

There are many questions that raise their ugly (no pun intended) heads here. Like how does Shabri turn out to be a pro shooter? And soon after getting out of the jail, how does she still possess a gun? What is the point of a cop hanging around her, asking her inane questions? And many, many more

'Don't Be Afraid of the Dark'

It's the thing you don't see that's always the scariest part of a horror movie. And it's those places you can't see as a kid -- underneath the bed, inside the closet, up in the attic -- where the horrible child-eating monsters are always waiting to get you.

Put those things together, and you've got "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark," a goosebump-y haunted-house flick where the floorboards and the mattresses and the big old furnace in the basement really are hiding something deadly.

A remake of a fairly-effective TV movie from 1973 -- the monsters were cheap, but the suspense was smartly ratcheted -- the new "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" was directed by first-timer Troy Nixey, although you'd be forgiven for thinking it's a new movie from Guillermo del Toro, whose name gets the most prominent placement on the posters and in the advertising.

Even if del Toro didn't yell "Action!" and "Cut!" the movie bears his imprint, from his fascination with scary stories told from a child's point-of-view ("The Devil's Backbone") to the elegantly grotesque creatures (which bear more than a resemblance to the creepy-crawlies from "Pan's Labyrinth").

The child in question this time around is Sally (Bailee Madison), an unhappy young girl being shuttled from her unstable mother to go and live with her father Alex (Guy Pearce), who's in the process of restoring a gorgeous old mansion with the help of his girlfriend Kim (Katie Holmes).

Kim does her best to get close to Sally, particularly since the work-obsessed Alex doesn't pay much attention to her, but Sally resists. And while exploring one day, Sally finds a sealed-off room that Alex opens up over the warnings of Harris (Jack Thompson), the house's longtime caretaker.

And you can pretty much imagine what happens from there -- beasties get loose, Sally hears and eventually sees them, no one believes her. But Nixey (working from a script by Del Toro and Matthew Robbins) cranks up the suspense with each appearance of the creatures; as "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" progresses, we learn more and more about just what these terrifying imps have in mind, and why we should grip our armrest when we see them make off with a pair of scissors.

Strong performances anchor the film. In movies like "Bridge to Terabithia" and "Brothers," and even in the ludicrous "Just Go With It," Madison has proven herself to be an expert at tween gravitas, and she nails Sally's fear and hopelessness throughout.

Even Holmes gets the pitch of the film just right, juggling her initial skepticism about monsters in the house with having stepmom duties suddenly thrown at her. If Pearce registers less than his two co-stars, it's because the character he's playing is so inert that he can't avoid slipping into the background.

If there's one big flaw with "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark," it's that in 2011, there's only so long that we can watch movie characters face the perils of a haunted house without thinking,

"GET OUT ALREADY!"

Long after it should be thoroughly obvious to even the most hardened skeptic that something very unnatural is going on in that old mansion, Alex insists that they stick around, and there aren't enough plot demands to make his stubbornness ring true.

(As clunky as "The Haunting in Connecticut" was, at least the script made it clear that the family couldn't afford to move.)

But if you're a fan of Guillermo del Toro's baroque brand of horror -- there's a disturbing mural here that would fit perfectly into almost any of the Mexican filmmaker's movies -- you'll find plenty of fun scares and popcorn-box-twisting tension. (Reuters)

Atif’s music goes global

Singer might collaborate with John Mayer, Coldplay and Jimmy Page

He is looking forward to the Indian release of his acting debut, ‘Bol’, but if all goes well, Pakistani singer Atif Aslam will be part of a much bigger partnership, reports the Times of India. He might just end up collaborating with big-ticket musicians like John Mayer, Coldplay and Jimmy Page (the founder of famous hard rockband Led Zeppelin). Aslam is a member of The Sonic Peacemakers’ ‘Pakistan America: Peace Through Music’ — a project aimed to bring Americans and Pakistanis closer, and support and develop the country’s artistic talent.

“Whenever I’m in the US, I keep aside a week to work only on my collaborations with artistes. Be it raising money or tying up with musicians, I’m doing everything on my own,” says Atif. “We are planning to collaborate with Mayer, Coldplay and Jimmy Page, but nothing is finalised yet.”

A hit Bollywood singer too, Atif says, “I’m keeping my fingers crossed because, after all, they are busy people.” But is it likely to happen? “We will keep everyone informed about it,” he says.

Atif has already recorded four songs with the ex-members of iconic American band Guns N’ Roses — Slash, Gliby Clarke and Chris Pitman for the album The Dreamer Awakes. “With the initiative, I plan to bring Pakistani singers — including our Sufi singers — and American artistes together for musical collaborations,” he says.

Regarding the upcoming release of Shoaib Mansoor’s Bol, Atif mentions, “It’s always exciting to work on new projects. ‘Bol’ is a very serious film and not just meant for pure entertainment.” Admitting that he was nervous about the film, he adds, “Although I have acted in my music videos and that helped, mouthing dialogues, that too intense ones, is a completely different ballgame. Shoaib Mansoor is a one-of-a-kind director. I loved his last film, ‘Khuda Ke Liye’.” Credit : Daily Times Pakistan

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are selling their Californian mansion for $13.75 million.

The Hollywood couple - who have six children, Maddox, 10, Pax, seven, Zahara, six, Shiloh, five, and three-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne - have decided to put the sprawling property, which has views of the Pacific Ocean, up for sale after making huge renovations to it.

The home is split in two, and despite the huge asking price it only has four bedrooms and four bathrooms.

It also features a swimming pool, a tennis court, expansive gardens and a walk in fridge and freezer.

The couple added an extra floor to the house designed by Christopher R. Sorenson and created a heated lap pool in recent years.

Brad purchase the 1962-built property after his split from Jennifer Aniston in 2005, and briefly put it up for sale in 2009 for $18 million, but it failed to sell.

Matt Damon: 'I'm not running for president'

Matt Damon has insisted that he has no plans to run for the US presidency.

Filmmaker Michael Moore recently praised Damon for standing up for his beliefs and called on the star to launch a presidential campaign.

Moore said at the time: "I think that [Damon] has been very courageous in not caring about who he offends by saying the things that need to be said here, and if you want to win, the Republicans have certainly shown the way - that when you run someone who is popular, you win."

A photographer recently questioned Damon on whether he has any plans to enter politics, prompting the actor to reply: "No sir!"

Damon added to TMZ: "I think there are probably better choices out there."

The Oscar winner supported US President Barack Obama in the 2008 elections, but recently admitted that he has been disappointed by Obama's first term of office.

Damon attended a teachers' rally last month to support changes to standardised school testing for students.

He will next star with Gwyneth Paltrow and Marion Cotillard in Contagion, which opens on September 9 in the US and on October 21 in the UK.

Actress Margot Kidder arrested during White House protest

Superman star Margot Kidder was arrested during a White House protest on Tuesday.

The actress led a rally against the proposed TransCanada Corp's Keystone oil pipeline, which will stretch from Canada to Texas.

Kidder, a Montana resident, insisted that the pipeline will cause dangerous oil leakage and urged President Barack Obama to block its construction.

"We're the first state the pipeline goes through. It's bound to leak, there's no way it's not going to... They always assure us these things are safe, and they never are," Kidder told those in attendance.

Moments after addressing the crowd, police arrived and arrested Kidder and Legends of the Fall star Tantoo Cardinal for failing to obey an order governing protests on the sidewalk, according to CBC.

Cardinal and Kidder were released from police custody on Tuesday evening.

Kidder, who played Lois Lane in Superman, has been an active campaigner for the Progressive Democrats of America.

The Canadian-born Kidder became a US citizen in 2004 in order to take a more active role in American politics.

She last appeared on the big screen in Rob Zombie's 2009 horror film Halloween II.

Shahid Kapoor plays three characters

Actor Shahid Kapoor doesn't want to talk about Kunal Kohli's film for which he was shooting in London, but says he plays three different characters in the yet untitled movie.

After "Kaminey", Shahid has once again teamed up with Priyanka Chopra in the movie.

Amy had no illegal substances in her system when she died !

Amy Winehouse had no illegal substances in her system when she died, according to toxicology results. The tests revealed the 'Rehab' singer – who was found dead in her home in Camden, north London, on July 23 at the age of 27 – had alcohol in her body at the time of her passing, but it is not known if it contributed to her death.

A statement released by her family today (23.08.11) read: "Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy’s system at the time of her death.

Results indicate that alcohol was present but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death."The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing thorough investigations and for keeping them informed throughout the process.

They await the outcome of the inquest in October."A post-mortem was held last month on July 25 - the day before Amy's funeral, where she was laid to rest in a private ceremony - to find out what caused her death but immediate results were deemed inconclusive.

Some reports had previously suggested the 27-year-old star's cause of death could have been as a result of quitting alcohol after years of heavy drinking, causing her body a shock or seizure.

Following Amy's untimely passing, her father Mitch Winehouse is planning to set up a rehab charity in her memory, with the headquarters set to be at her £2.5 million home.

He said: "It could include help for children in trouble, kids suffering health problems, children's hospices and more. We want to make a positive difference.

"However, Mitch's plans have been delayed because someone else has already registered his proposed name The Amy Winehouse Foundation. Look at Amy's many career achievements in pictures

'One Day' feels like it lasts years and years

Vague approximation of a guy meets sketchy notion of an intelligent woman, and then they spend two decades circling each other for no apparent reason. It's not exactly "boy meets girl," but that's the best that the new romance "One Day," based on a best-selling novel that I have not read, has to offer.

Author David Nicholls may have made these characters more substantial on the page, but in the big-screen adaptation (which he wrote), the leads are so lightweight and barely-there that a stiff
breeze in the projection booth could make them disappear entirely.

And since the whole movie is about the two of them and whether or not they ever get together, that's kind of a problem.

On July 15, 1988, Emma (Anne Hathaway) and Dexter (Jim Sturgess) hook up at the end of a drunken night celebrating their graduation from college. (Sorry, university: They're supposed to be from the UK, although if you didn't get that from Hathaway's vague accent, you're not alone.)

What's supposed to be a booty call gets terribly awkward -- she puts Tracy Chapman's "Talkin' 'bout a Revolution" on as mood music, he gets dressed to leave while she's prepping in the bathroom -- and then leads to what will become a lifelong friendship.

And so, we check in with these two every July 15 and observe the passage of time and the ups and downs of their lives.

Emma spins her wheels waiting tables at a Mexican restaurant and dating an untalented would-be stand-up comic (Rafe Spall), while Dex becomes a D-bag television personality and all-around shallow jerk. (One of the laziest tropes in contemporary fiction is to make one of your characters become famous, and "One Day" does it twice, as Emma eventually blossoms into a successful author of young-adult fiction, complete with Audrey Hepburn-esque makeover.)

Along the way, characters die, relationships begin and fall apart, but Emma and Dex somehow stay close and keep their unrequited love burning between them. But why, exactly?

"One Day" never bothers to spell out for us just who these people are, what they want, or why they do what they do. So it's next to impossible to get revved up about their feelings for each other, except for the fact that Emma and Dex are the principal characters, and they're being played by attractive, charismatic performers.

Nicholls' wafer-thin screenplay eventually beats down both Hathaway and Sturgess, who try desperately to give this couple something approximating depth.

And the whole same-time-next-year business -- which must have worked on the page, since the novel was huge with the book-club set -- winds up feeling gimmicky and pointless.

Jumping through the turn of the 21st century was no doubt lots of fun for the hair and wardrobe department -- Hathaway spends the first chunk of the film being frumped up with unflattering glasses and outfits, but Sturgess goes from posh preppy to '90s fashion victim, sporting an array of looks you'd prayed would never return.

(If only any of Sturgess' lines had been as interesting as his hairdos.)

The music supervisor had a bit of a lark as well, throwing in Clinton-era jams from the likes of Fatboy Slim and Del Amitri, with some Robbie Williams karaoke thrown in once the film makes it to the 2000s.

But there's only so much fun to be had with "Jurassic Park" references, denim vests, and "Sowing the Seeds of Love."

Rather than tell a story that would organically elicit certain emotions, it feels like Nicholls and director Lone Scherfig ("An Education") want us to yearn wistfully here and tear up there, and then they set out to create moments that would hit those marks. So we're left with a plot that feels forced (and subsequently predictable) being acted out by ciphers.

Patricia Clarkson, as Dex's mother, shines brightest among the cast, even though she's saddled with a thankless role that's all wise advice and the stoic avoidance of tears in a time of crisis. She's taken the pudding cup the movie gives her and somehow transforms it into chocolate mousse.

The people behind "One Day" no doubt thought that the passing of the years within the story would be a potent reminder of how life slips right by us, but the more likely response is along the lines of, "Ugh, it's only 2008? Is this movie ever going to be over?" (Reuters). Celebrities Pictures Galleries

Kate Winslet escapes fire at Branson holiday home

British Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet was among the guests who escaped unhurt from a fire which swept through Richard Branson's Caribbean holiday retreat overnight.

Branson said the blaze was caused by a lightning strike on The Great House on Necker Island, and that the building was completely destroyed.

Branson, his wife Joan and son Sam were staying in a nearby property, but among those who fled the affected building were 35-year-old Winslet, her boyfriend and family, Branson's mother Eve and his daughter Holly.

"Around 20 people were in the house and they all managed to get out and they are all fine," Branson said in comments released to the British media.

"We had a really bad tropical storm with winds up to 90 miles per hour. A big lightning storm came around 4 a.m. and hit the house.

"My son Sam rushed to the house and helped get everyone out. Kate Winslet, her boyfriend and her family were there and Holly and some of her friends were also staying. My mother was there and they managed to get her out and she is fine."

He said his office was based in the main house, and that he had lost thousands of photographs in the fire.

Branson added that he planned to rebuild the property, which British media said had been expected to be the venue for the marriage later this year of Holly to fiance Fred Andrews.

'Heroine' Kareena slashes fee, to share profits

Kareena Kapoor who had demanded a whopping Rs 10 crore from UTV for Heroine has settled for Rs 8 crore. But the actor would now be sharing profits with the producers. This makes Kareena the first ever female actor to enter this space.

"Kareena had earlier demanded Rs 8 crore. After several meetings, she has now decided to slash her fee. However, she will now be a part of the profit sharing rights. The producers have worked it out in a way that Kareena ends up getting Rs 8 crore out of the project," a source told Mumbai Mirror.

Kareena Kapoor would be the first female actor, to have signed a profit sharing agreement for a film. Earlier actors like Salman Khan, SRK, Aamir Khan and Imran Khan have been in similar arrangements.

We hope that Madhur's film is finally unjinxed!

Salman Khan to slow down professionally

Speculation about Salman Khan's health has been rife and now the actor's brother Sohail Khan has confirmed that a nerve has been troubling him for a couple of months now and would take it easy professionally for a while.

"It's just a nerve that has been troubling him for a couple of months now. He got some tests done to get it diagnosed. That's it. Nothing more. Now that the problem has been identified, he has been taking medical advice. We're in the process of finding out the best way to treat the problem. Insha Allah, all should be fine," Mid Day quotes Sohail.

Salman Khan, meanwhile would work on only one film at a time.

Sources suggest that Salman Khan was not comfortable shooting for Bodyguard and Ek Tha Tiger simultaneously. He would do Dabangg 2 and Sher Khan one by one.

Also, Salman would start Sajid Nadiadwala's Kick only at the beginning of next year. For now, he would focus on Ek Tha Tiger.

"My movie Sher Khan will now start early next year after Yashraj. Now he'll do one film at a time," Sohail adds.

Considering the actor's dream run at BO, his fans wouldn't mind waiting a little longer for their demigod to light up the screen!

Britain’s youngest drag queen

Most children’s hobbies consist of playing football or belonging to the Brownies. But not flamboyant Redvers Stokes, who at the tender age of 12 has picked a slightly more unique pastime - slipping into his mum’s clothes to perform as a drag queen.

And the schoolboy, whose drag persona is Naughty Nora, is already showing great promise, as he has been crowned the country’s youngest drag queen.
Redvers, from Sticker, Cornwall, has been sporting slinky dresses and tottering about in high heels even before he went to primary school.

He said: ‘I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it; I think it’s really funny. ‘I might like dressing up in women’s clothes but I still like girls. It’s just a little hobby of mine.’

The colourful performer took his hobby to a competitive level when he entered the prestigious annual drag queen competition in his home village, competing with men three times his age.

He slipped on his mum Georgie’s tight pink slinky dress, a long, curly wig, and towering heels.
Glamorous Redvers, under the guise of Naughty Nora, took to the stage and enchanted judges with his face full of make-up. He belted out Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ and a string of Dolly Parton hits. The schoolboy was crowned Carnival Drag Queen to the shock of his farm worker parents, Georgie and Matthew, both 43, and hundreds of stunned locals.

Sonam Kapoor empathises with military wives

Sonam Kapoor has said that she empathises with women whose boyfriends and husbands serve in the armed forces.

The Delhi 6 star plays the love interest of an Air Force officer in the film Mausam.

Speaking to The Hindustan Times, she said: "I play a ballet dancer in the film, and I eventually get involved with someone who is in the Air Force. You have to be a different person to handle that.

"That made me empathise with a lot of people in the country... people all over the world who have husbands, boyfriends, brothers in the forces... Sometimes, you have to be stronger than the men themselves."

The 26-year-old actress said that the women had to learn to be patient.

"I think waiting is the most difficult thing. You don't know where they'll get posted. When you're married, they are away for long periods of time. I read a lot of such stories.

"You feel they are fighting for a good cause, so there's a whole fascination. There's some mystery and romanticism about them."

The actress reportedly came under fire from the film's director Pankaj Kapoor for refusing to do a kissing scene with co-star Shahid Kapoor in the film.

Kapoor beat off competition from Sonakshi, Narmada and Shazahn Padamsee to get the role.Enjoy the beautyful pictures of Sonam Kapoor.

Shilpa Shetty shoots challenging scenes in bald lesbian monk role

Shilpa Shetty has been given challenging scenes in her latest film The Desire: A Journey of a Woman.

Shetty, who plays a bald lesbian monk in the movie, shot the scenes with Chinese co-star Xia Yu.

According to Mid Day, Shetty said: "I had no qualms in doing these scenes as these sequences are an integral part of the film, and have been aesthetically shot."

The 36-year-old actress had reportedly been looking for a challenging script following her widely acclaimed performance in Anurag Basu's Life In A Metro.

A source said: "In the film, a world famous Chinese painter is madly in love with Shilpa's character Gautami, but she does not really respond to him. These sequences are a part of the story building up to how far their friendship goes.

"The film traces Gautami's journey through a number of years. The love story is beautiful and the passion between the two characters is almost like a painting."

The role has been described as the most interesting of the actress's 17-year career.

"I would say that it's my character Gautami who is bold, and not the scenes, per se," explained Shetty.

The Indo-Chinese movie is her first major film role since her Celebrity Big Brother win in 2007.

The actress was last seen performing a single dance number in Dostana, a romantic comedy starring Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham.

Shetty has previously said that her career in Bollywood has been stalled by younger actresses. Enjoy the beautiful pictures of  Shilpa Shetty

"This is where they started and this film brought recognition to both Vikram and Bipasha," he added.
