Ra One breaks single day box office record

MUMBAI: After failing to break the opening day box office record, Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Ra One’ has managed to make history by breaking the record for highest ticket sales in one day.

In India alone the movie took in Rs23 million on the second day of its release. ‘Ra One’ which had the largest release of any movie to date can be seen in 5,000 theatres across the world and is the most expensive India movie in history.

The movie fell short of breaking Salman Khan’s ‘Bodyguard’ opening day record.

‘Ra One’ sets record with Rs5.2mn sponsorship

MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming flick ‘Ra One’ has added one more record to its list by getting a Rs5.2 million sponsorship before its release on October 26, hence, recovering a major portion of its promotional investment.

The most awaited and high-budget movie already holds multiple records.

"The marketing spend on the movie has been 'subsidised' considerably through tie-ups with over 25 major brands," according to a statement by Eros.

The movie will be released in 2D and 3D formats in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu in over 3,500 screens worldwide.

No other bollywood movie has ever been able to secure place in so many cinemas at one time.

MUMBAI: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has wished well for the success of his rival superstar Shahrukh Khan’s new movie ‘Ra one’.

Salman Khan, on the sideline of a function being held for the promotion of his film ‘Ready’ in an interview, told that his best wishes were with the Shahrukh Khan’s new film ‘Ra One’ that it turns out a hit.

To a question about showing film ‘Ready’ to Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan said that the producer of this film Bhusan Kumar and heroin Asin were interested in showing this movie to Shahrukh and he has no objection to it.
