Pussycat Dolls split in row over Scherzinger?

American pop girls group The Pussycat Dolls has called it a day, amid jealous rows over the rising profile of lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, girlfriend of British motor racing ace Lewis Hamilton.

Band member Kimberly Wyatt confirmed Saturday that the group were taking a long break to consider their future, fuelling speculation that it's all over for the band who formed in LA in 2003, reports mirror.co.uk.

"The girls and I have just finished our huge world tour and are taking a break from the band and doing our own thing... We're all concentrating on our own projects and deciding what the future will hold," said Wyatt.

Rumours are rife that tensions have been mounting in the Pussycat camp for several months. The five-member ensemble has been divided by jealousy over the star treatment being meted out to their lead singer.

Earlier this year Scherzinger, 31, was singled out for special mention on the group's "Slumdog Millionaire" single "Jai jo", which was billed as The Pussycat Dolls featuring Nicole Scherzinger.

Taking Woodstock (2009)

There were half a million people at Woodstock, and in Ang Lee's impressively staged, thinly written Taking Woodstock, you feel as if you're seeing a great many of them flow by. The film mostly stays away from the festival's electric center of gravity. A lot of it is set in a run-down motel in the Catskills town of White Lake, N.Y., where hippie drifters start to show up and clog the roads. Lee captures the fractious, joyful, monstrously evolving mass it all was.

The festival could have made for a lively Altmanesque canvas of the counterculture. Instead, Lee sets his sights on Elliot Tiber (Demetri Martin), a shy interior designer whose cranky Yiddishe parents own the motel in question. Elliot inadvertently gets Woodstock launched by leading a trivial Chamber of Commerce vote, and it's fun to see him rub shoulders with Max Yasgur (Eugene Levy), who rents his acreage out to the festival, and with Michael Lang, the bare-chested-under-his-vest hippie capitalist who masterminds the event; Jonathan Groff plays Lang as a cagey idealist who uses his ''Oh, wow!'' enthusiasm to size up every situation. But mostly we're watching Elliot, who is gay and scared, learn to give in to his feelings and defy his parents. He's the ''straightest'' guy in the film (ironic!), but there's a reason that no one at Woodstock ever chanted the slogan ''Let the nice Jewish boy be free!''

Mischa doesn't know if she had breakdown

Mischa Barton "doesn't know" if she had a nervous breakdown.

The former The OC actress - who was placed under involuntary psychiatric hold at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center last month - has blamed the incident on an operation to remove wisdom teeth which went wrong.

She said: "I don't know if it was an official breakdown. I don't know. I had a friend who had a quasi-nervous breakdown, but I'm not sure it's the same thing. I'm not sure I'm capable of a full-on nervous breakdown, but it was pretty bad. It didn't last that long.

It was more about the pain. I have a newfound respect for people who have chronic pain.

"I went through a terrible surgery - a wisdom tooth surgery, all four removed. It was a nightmare. I've never had surgery before - it all went wrong. So with the travel, and surgery and prep for the show - it was hell."

The 23-year-old star also believes her hectic work schedule and the pressure of having to starting shooting her new TV show 'The Beautiful Life' - in which she plays a model - contributed to her hospitalisation.

She added to Time Out New York magazine: "Before the show started, I was travelling abroad for contract stuff. I went through a tough spot where everything compounded on me, and it was like a perfect storm, like everything was happening to me at once.

"The show, travel and then this fairly routine surgery that went wrong - it's still just healing. But I had to get through it without proper painkillers because I couldn't take those during work. So it's been a nightmare."

Mischa says she was "down in the dumps" prior to entering hospital but insists she is now over the experience and feels totally in charge of her life again.

She also revealed it was her mother Nuala who put her in the hospital, but insists it is not that big a deal.

Mischa said: "The funny thing is, if all this happened in New York no one would care."

Boyfriend fighting will be sexy

Katie Price is turned on by seeing her new boyfriend get beaten up.

The glamour model - who began dating cage fighter Alex Reid last month following her split from estranged husband Peter Andre - is looking forward to seeing Alex fight another man as she finds it "sexy".

According to Britain's Daily Star newspaper, Katie told a friend: "I just can't wait to see him in action - it's going to be so sexy. I have already seen him in training and that's pretty hot. Watching Alex going head-to-head with another man is going to be incredible.

"He's so different from my ex, Pete was very cuddly but he's not really much of an animal! Alex has a true beast hidden inside."

The mother-of-three - also known as Jordan - and Alex are enjoying an "adventurous" sex life.

A pal said: "Apart from the fact that Alex is all muscles, he is so highly sexed and adventurous that he's taken Jordan to another planet."

Meanwhile, Alex was reportedly furious when he discovered Katie slept with banker Andre Pinto before she met him.

The 31-year-old beauty sent the Brazilian hunk a string of raunchy sex texts, much to Alex's disgust.

A source said: "Alex was shocked by the explicit texts. He wasn't happy and let Katie know. She had a lot of explaining to do."

The September Issue

There are many documentaries about the fashion world. Some, like Unzipped (remember when Isaac Mizrahi was the new black?), are impish fun, and a few, like Valentino: The Last Emperor, have been marvelous. But the singular fascination of The September Issue, R.J. Cutler's lusciously revealing fly-on-the-wall portrait of Anna Wintour, the editor in chief of Vogue, doesn't hinge on clothes, or glamour, or the sprinkle of stars on display. (Look, it's Jean Paul Gaultier! And Sienna Miller!) It begins with the electromagnetic pull of power.

We expect to see Wintour hidden behind her famous sunglasses, as indomitable as the Sphinx. But Cutler, the producer of The War Room, opens the movie with Wintour un-spectacled, her face pert and pretty, gazing with a twinkle as she explains that those who look down on fashion people for being ''shallow'' feel threatened by them. It's an astute point, and Wintour makes it in a way that's so direct and amused — eager to defuse her mystique, which of course only adds to it — that even when ''exposed'' by Cutler's camera, she's still a sphinx, impassive but for the occasional hint of a wince or a soft smile. Her mind is always in two places at once: on the task at hand, and attuned to the global fashion ramifications of every move she makes.

In The September Issue, we observe the process by which Wintour and her vast army of editors, designers, photographers, models, and gofers labor, throughout the summer of 2007, to assemble Vogue's massive September issue, a plush treasure chest of ads, photo spreads, and gilded dreams. It's through Voguethat Wintour, more than any other figure, reigns over the decisions — of taste, aesthetics, economics — that shape the $300 billion-a-year fashion industry. The September issue is more than a magazine. It's a major motion picture stuffed between glossy covers, with Wintour as its all-knowing, all-dictatorial producer. She pulls the whole issue together, keeping her eye on the big picture while micromanaging the small ones, like David O. Selznick presiding over the production of Gone With the Wind.

Is she a diva, a bitch? The devil in Prada? (If my eyes don't deceive me, she seems to prefer Lagerfeld.) Well, she's a devil only if you think there's something nasty about a woman who's paid a royal salary to elevate her every whim into a command. The September Issue is organized so that we observe the ruthlessness, the high perfectionistic logic, of each decision Wintour makes. There's not enough color in that collection! Why does this layout feature only one fur garment? — it looks out of place! "I don't see any real evening on that rack," she tells a quivering Yves Saint Laurent designer. No casual comment about after-dark wear was ever such a threat. Yet Wintour isn't mean; she simply means what she says.

If she were just pushing people around, we might look on with derision (or fear), but part of the movie's dishy fun is that there's room for more than one ego in the room. André Leon Talley, who is Wintour's consigliere and editor-at-large, is a bitch (I mean that as a compliment), a witty postmodern man so neurotic about swaddling his giant physique that he can't play tennis without draping a designer towel over his shoulders. And if Wintour is the film's subject, its true heroine is Grace Coddington, Vogue's passionate and addled creative director. A former model (like Wintour herself) who rose up in the 1960s glory days of swinging London, Coddington now looks like a Pre-Raphaelite ghost. It's she who orchestrates the magazine's photo shoots, which are like eroticized couture dioramas that fuse the past and the future.

When one of Coddington's spectacular spreads gets cut, she sulks with fury. We see why she's mad — every image she creates is gorgeous — yet Wintour isn't out to destroy. She simply has priorities, of mix, balance, and (yes) money, that keep Vogue thriving. These two square off like jungle predators, but they need each other; they create a yin and yang of commerce and beauty that Vogue melds into that indefinable thing called glamour. I came away from The September Issue liking Anna Wintour more than I thought I would, but mostly with an appreciation for her mission: not just to sell magazines, to market clothing and style, but to give femininity its sheen

My One and Only (2009)

Renée Zellweger plays to her strengths as an unsinkable Southern belle in the safe and breezy 1950s period piece My One and Only. With a platinum blond assist, the scrunchable star crinkles prettily as Ann Devereaux, a flirty yet flinty survivor who scoops up her two teenage sons, loads them into a powder blue Cadillac Eldorado, and leaves her philandering bandleader husband (Kevin Bacon) in New York. One son, Robbie (Mark Rendall), is a Project Runway queen born a half century too soon; the other, George (Logan Lerman), narrates the story and grows up to become…eternally charming, cleverly self-mocking George Hamilton. Yes, this is actually the Tanned One's life story, spun into a weightless movie as cheerily artificial as the Old Navy pitchman's bronze skin tones.

As Ann and her boys motor west toward Los Angeles, Mama looks up old beaux in search of a potential new man with $$$ (she's got a knack for the wrong guys), Robbie does embroidery, and George worries for the three of them. The whole journey unfurls in a billow of fashionable costumes and generous small cameos from nice TV actors, including Chris Noth, Nick Stahl, Eric McCormack, and the
always enlivening Robin Weigert (Calamity Jane in Deadwood) as Ann's stingy sister.

Jolie to return for ‘Wanted’ sequel?

Angelina Jolie may reappear in the sequel of her film Wanted.

The actress’ character was fatally injured in the end of the first film and scriptwriters are apparently trying their best to reprise it.

The director of the movie Timur Bekmambetov has said that a comeback would be “tough to do”, but his writers were “trying hard,” reports the Daily Star.

Jolie starred alongside Scottish star James McAvoy in the assassin movie.

Christina's hubby helped overcome past

Aguilera, 28, and music marketing executive Bratman, 32, who are parents to 19-month-old son Max, will be married four years in November.

And the singer insists that it is only because of Bratman’s loving influence that she has been able to conquer her fears after growing up with an abusive father.

“I grew up not having any real male perspective or role model and Jordan just continuously makes me fall deeper and deeper in love with him everyday,” Contactmusic quoted her as telling E! Online.

“He just exudes such love and is such a great father to Max that it just makes me the happiest woman alive.

“I’m just lucky to have him in my life... every couple has times when they disagree, but I never allow any arguments to escalate in front of Max,” she added.

Bebo gives it up for Aamir!

Don’t make any plans for Kareena Kapoor’s birthday this year.
The actress who turns 29 on September 21, is going to be busy on her film 3 Idiots with Aamir Khan, so bechara Saif Ali Khan will have to rework whatever surprise he had in mind for his Bebo.

Originally, she had wanted to spend time with Saif, mother Babita, sister Karisma and niece Samaira around her birthday... but tragedy struck Aamir’s close and happy little khandaan, and Kareena stepped to the rescue.

You know that Aamir’s wife Kiran Rao suffered a miscarriage earlier this month, and that Aamir promised Kiran he would take time off from 3 Idiots to help her recuperate from the trauma.

What Aamir didn’t realise when he made that emotional commitment was that he had given dates with Kareena to shoot a song in Mumbai during the very same period. Hesitantly, he called up his co-star and asked if she would reorganise her own diary to accommodate him at another time. And Kareena agreed, at the cost of her own birthday plans, because she realised how big Kiran’s trauma was.

Now Kareena and Aamir will shoot the song from September 25 to October 2 in Mumbai. She was in Switzerland all the while and is expected back in Mumbai today. While Aamir is in Europe. The actor has left behind his two cell phones and prefers to be incommunicado for the period that he spends with Kiran. He wants nothing to come in the way of her recuperation.

Michael Jackson's death homicide

LOS ANGELES — Michael Jackson's death has been declared a homicide by Los Angeles coroners as they revealed the singer had a lethal cocktail of six different drugs in his body when he died.

Ending several weeks of feverish speculation following Jackson's sudden death in Los Angeles on June 25, the county coroner's office issued a brief statement Friday ruling that the superstar's death was unlawful.

The statement said that while "acute intoxication" from the powerful anesthetic propofol was the primary cause of death, Jackson, 50, had also suffered from the effects of other drugs in his system.

As well as propofol, powerful drugs including lorazepam, midazolam, diazepam, lidocaine and ephedrine were found in Jackson's body.

The coroner's statement said police investigators and public prosecutors had ordered that the full toxicology report concerning Jackson be withheld until further notice.

Jackson's family welcomed the findings.

"The Jackson family again wishes to commend the actions of the coroner, the LAPD and other law enforcement agencies, and looks forward to the day that justice can be served," the family said in a statement.

The coroner's announcement will fuel speculation that authorities are likely to charge Jackson's personal physician Conrad Murray in connection with the death. Cardiologist Murray was the last person to see Jackson alive.

A lawyer for Murray issued a statement in response to Friday's announcement, saying the coroner's release "contains nothing new."

"For two months we have been hearing the same information, usually from leaks out of the coroner's office," attorney Ed Chernoff said in a statement.

"One has to wonder why the coroner felt compelled to release anything at all if the police investigation is not yet complete."

According to court documents unsealed in Houston, Texas, on Monday, multiple drugs were administered to Jackson by Murray in the hours before his death.

Chief Medical Examiner-Coroner Lakshmanan Sathyavagiswaran "reviewed the preliminary toxicology results and his preliminary assessment of Jackson's cause of death was due to lethal levels of propofol."

Murray administered propofol and other drugs to Jackson -- at the star's insistence -- to treat his insomnia, but was worried Jackson had developed an addiction and "tried to wean Jackson off of the drug," the affidavit said.

Propofol is a powerful anesthetic used to induce unconsciousness in patients undergoing major surgery in hospital. Medical professionals say it should never be used by private individuals at home.

The affidavit unsealed on Monday revealed that Murray told investigators two days after the star died that he had been giving Jackson 50 milligrams of propofol nightly during the six weeks prior to the event.

As part of their investigation, police and federal agents have already raided Murray's offices in Las Vegas, Nevada and Houston, Texas, as well as a Las Vegas pharmacy that provided the drugs.

Murray told investigators he was not the first doctor to administer propofol to the King of Pop, who referred to the drug as his "milk," LAPD detective Orlando Martinez wrote in the affidavit, citing the cardiologist.

Medical experts said the cocktail of drugs apparently given to Jackson was extremely dangerous and police would need to determine whether administering it was tantamount to medical negligence.

"If all of these drugs... are also shown, this would be a classical case of acute combined drug toxicity," forensic pathologist Cyril Wecht told CNN.

Jackson is to be buried at a cemetery in Glendale, California on September 3, his family announced last week. They had originally planned to bury him on Saturday -- the day he would have turned 51.

Instead, Jackson's birthday will be a day for celebration and commemoration for fans around the world.

In New York's Brooklyn borough, crowds of up to 10,000 people are set to flock to a day of festivities marking the international superstar's birthday.

The borough's president is to declare the day Michael Jackson Day in Brooklyn, The New York Times reported, and Reverend Al Sharpton would open the festivities with a prayer.

The free celebration, organized by director Spike Lee, could be dampened somewhat by bad weather associated with Tropical Storm Danny, which is expected to bring heavy rains and strong winds to the US east coast Saturday.

Thousands attend Jackson birthday bash in New York

NEW YORK — Thousands of Michael Jackson fans danced the rain away in a Brooklyn park on Saturday at a party hosted by filmmaker Spike Lee, marking what would have been the 51st birthday of the late pop star.

Crowds of partygoers streamed into Prospect Park late Saturday afternoon, many wearing fedoras, sporting white gloves and showing off other Jackson-esque outfits. DJs spun Jackson's hits one after the other as people danced and sang along. Dozens of hawkers wandered through the crowd with T-shirts, buttons, posters and homemade memorabilia.

"I was just like everyone else. I loved his talent," said Lee, who directed two music videos for Jackson in 1996. He also reminisced how Jackson had visited him in his home in Brooklyn to talk about their music video collaboration.

The day was also designated Michael "King of Pop" Jackson Memorial Day by Brooklyn borough president Marty Markowitz.

"We all know Michael Jackson had fans around the world, but we all know the best fans come from Brooklyn," Markowitz boasted to a roaring crowd that grew as heavy rain in the morning lightened to a drizzle by mid-afternoon.

Edna Robles of Brooklyn was on her feet all afternoon. In a red baseball cap and flip flops, she closed her eyes and swung her hips, pivoting in the grass and mud to the beats of Jackson's hit "Thriller."

"It could be thundering, I don't care," she said. "I watched him through the years and I think he's the best. I love him."

The event, originally planned as a block-party-style gathering for 2,000 in Brooklyn's Fort Greene Park, was moved to Prospect Park to accommodate a bigger crowd.

Peter Brodie and his wife, Corrine Rodriguez, brought their daughters, 3-month-old Astrid and 2 1/2-year-old Makeda, to the party. Rodriguez danced with Makeda to "Beat It" while Brodie swayed side to side as he held Astrid in his arms.

"I grew up listening to Michael Jackson. I was 9 years old and he opened up a whole new world of music and dancing to me," said Brodie, who said it was a shame that such a spirited celebration of Jackson's music came only after his death.

Aubrey Harris, a 45-year-old from New York, was clutching a stack of homemade portraits he made of Jackson.

"I'm spreading the memory of Michael Jackson," said Harris, who cut out Jackson's image from posters and created 19 collages decorated with paint and glitter. "I'm keeping it in the forefront of people's minds."

Original supermodels Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova, Naomi Campbell reunite for nude ad

London, August 29 :: Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova, Naomi Campbell have come together to pose for a new advertisement without their layers.

The supermodels, who set the ramps on fire with their walks in the early nineties, shot for a commercial for new D&G fragrance, ‘Anthology’.

The beauties apparently took their place in personalised dressing gowns, reports The Sun.

They were said to have shared the frame alongside male models Fernando Fernandes, Noah Mills and Tyson Ballou for the advert.

Michael Jackson's ex-wife reported doctor to police

Michael Jackson's ex-wife reported the singer's doctor Arnold Klein to police for supplying the pop star with powerful drugs, according to the U.K. newspaper The Sun.
Debbie Rowe, 50, allegedly made an anonymous call to police to tell them that Jackson used false names to get drugs from Klein.
Jackson apparently used aliases including Omar Arnold, Fernand Diaz, Peter Madonie and Josephine Baker when he saw Klein. The aliases could have enabled Jackson to build up large supplies of drugs, including propofol.
Jackson died from a lethal dose of propofol, a powerful anesthetic, according to findings by the Los Angeles chief medical examiner unsealed in court documents in Houston on Monday.
Jackson suffered cardiac arrest and died on June 25 at age 50. Since then, an investigation by state and federal agencies have focused on Conrad Murray, Jackson's personal doctor who was at his side the day he died.
A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper:
"Rowe holds Klein totally responsible for Jackson's drug addiction. She believes there is no way he could have got hooked without the help of Klein - and she is potentially the only one who can prove it. She must have suspected what was going on for years."
Rowe is the mother of Jackson's two eldest children, Prince Michael, 12, and Paris, 11. She worked in Klein's clinic in the 1990s

Amy in trouble again

Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse’s relatives have declared they will break all ties with her if she reunites with estranged husband Blake Fielder-Civil, even as the singer is suing her mother-in-law Georgette for selling one of her love letters. The singer’s mother Janis is devastated by reports that Amy has been in touch with Fielder-Civil and insists she will pull back from her daughter’s life if she goes back to him, reported contactmusic.com “The family will just say, ‘Enough is enough’. We’d never turn our backs on Amy, but there’d have to come a point where we step back. I’m not sure how much more I could go through. Amy knows what we think of Blake so I suppose she’s hiding it,” said Janis. Janis and Amy’s father Mitch blame Blake for Amy’s descent into drug addiction. They fear that rekindling her relationship with Blake could cause her to spiral out of control again. Meanwhile, Amy, who was never in good terms with Blake’s mum Georgette, is suing her for selling her love letter. According to thesun.co.uk, the note, which was sold, was written by Winehouse for her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil when he was in jail for assault and preventing justice. Now the singer is suing for copyright infringement and wants about $81,000 in compensation.

'Don't touch my breasts'

Katie Price hates lovers touching her breasts.
The glamour model - known as Jordan - bans men from groping her surgically-enhanced boobs in the bedroom because she has no feeling in them.
Brazilian banker Andre Pinto, who had a passionate fling with the 31-year-old star after they met on the Spanish party island Ibiza, said: "Her breasts are hard but also soft at the same time.
"They are beautiful, but she didn't like me touching them as she doesn't feel anything because they are not sensitive. She also only likes to get intimate in the dark."
Even though the romp was "really hot", Andre claims Katie only used him as a "sex toy" to help her get over her split from husband Peter Andre earlier this year.
He added to Britain's The Sun newspaper: "She used me for sex. She always said she didn't want a proper relationship. She treated me as a sex toy when it suited her and then dumped me."
But Andre also defended Katie, insisting she is not a "slut".
He explained: "She likes to show off, to play, to tease men, but she's not the kind of girl to sleep around with everyone."
Andre says Katie also revealed her marriage ended because Peter didn't like her partying with friends.
He said: "Katie told me he didn't really like going out. He wanted a wife to be inside the house but she wanted to socialise."

Lindsay Lohan`s neighbours want her to move out

Lindsay Lohan’s neighbours apparently want the actress to move out after being fed up with the paparazzi who take up the parking space. The singer’s peeved neighbours said “it has been a nightmare” ever since the star, whose house has been twice burglarised, shifted in Hollywood Hills, according to RadarOnline.com."The truth is that this is a very quiet neighborhood and there have been no break-ins apart from at Lindsay Lohan''s house," the New York Daily News quoted a neighbour as saying."Since she moved in last November it has been a nightmare with all the paparazzi parking in our driveways waiting for her," the neighbour added. The neighbour also said: "I've got nothing personal against her but she needs to find a home in a gated community with security at the main gate because all the residents are fed-up with the situation.

Five Minutes of Heaven

Half of Five Minutes of Heaven really happened: In 1975, during the thick of conflict in Northern Ireland, 11-year-old Irish-Catholic Joe Griffin witnessed the assassination of his older brother, Jim, at the hands of 17-year-old Irish-Protestant Alistair Little. Three decades later, Griffin is an angry, stricken man. Little, who served time in prison, now runs workshops in conflict resolution for prisoners.

The other half of this earnest, urgent movie is a fantasy: What if the adult Griffin (James Nesbitt) and Little (Liam Neeson) were offered their own session of conflict resolution? On television, no less, at a stately home rented for the purpose? Five Minutes of Heaven — the phrase is Griffin's description of how he'd feel avenging his brother's death — isn't a ballsy truth-bender like Inglourious Basterds. Director Oliver Hirschbiegel (Downfall) and screenwriter Guy Hibbert (Omagh) take pains to honor psychological truth. But in that quest, and especially in the convoluted dramatic conceit of a camera crew filming so intimate a confrontation, the film's artifice battles the subject matter. It's an original movie idea that feels written for the stage, all the more so since so much of our attention is diverted to admiring how the actors act, in roles with a high degree of technical difficulty. A forceful Neeson and an even more intense Nesbitt (Bloody Sunday) both show their stuff and obscure the unrelieved pain endured by the men they portray.

World's Greatest Dad

World's Greatest Dad, Bobcat Goldthwait's latest garishly potty-mouthed and over-the-top black comedy, blows up every rule of taste, good cinema, and common sense, and somehow gets away with it. Robin Williams plays a high school poetry teacher despised by his awful, sullen, computer-porn-addicted son (Daryl Sabara). Without revealing too much, let's just say that a flowery suicide note turns the kid into a figure of worship — and the movie into a toxic satire of celebrity, hypocrisy, and the power of idiotic suggestion. Williams hasn't been this sympathetic in years

Fifty Dead Men Walking

Writer-director Kari Skogland's sharp-edged, doc-style drama Fifty Dead Men Walking is loosely based on the true story of Martin McGartland, who lived life on a tightrope in the late 1980s during the Troubles in Northern Ireland: McGartland served as a loyal IRA member—and passed intelligence on to the Brits. (A Dead Man is what the IRA called an informer, and for good reason.) Jim Sturgess (Across the Universe) makes a believable cocky lad who signs on for the con; an oddly bewigged Ben Kingsley is fussier and too actorly as his handler.

Heidi Montag Puts her Mouth to Good Use

From reality show diva to Playmate to pop singer... Heidi Montag wants to do it all, and she's doing it!

The blonde actress had yet another surprise for her fans, as she performed live at the Miss Universe pageant in the Bahamas this past Sunday, where against all odds she actually did a pretty good job.

Dressed in tight sequined pants and a matching bra, Heidi sang Body Language from her debut album, in a performance that reminded us of Britney's early days as the Princess of Pop. May be the reason is Heidi's love of Britney.

During a recent interview, Montag had said: "I grew up watching Britney Spears. That's someone I inspire to be, you know, like, career wise. I think the world is ready for the next pop star and I'm ready to be the next pop galaxy, so here we go."

Shenae Grimes Nipple Slip

Shenae Grimes's tits may be small, but they're rather nice, not to mention extremely perky, as you can see in this photo.

The Canadian actress, whose histrionic talent can be enjoyed in the 90210 show, was photographed this week getting into her car and wearing just a loose fitting yellow shirt to cover her boobs.

Needless to say this wouldn't be news except that her lack of a bra gave the paparazzi plenty to photograph.

This Shenae Grimes' nipple slip (technically a full boob slip) is the first one ever to be caught on film, but we're hopeful that as her popularity increases, we'll get to see much more of her anatomy.

Shauna Sands' Bikini Candids

When walking about Malibu Beach, one can expect to run into curvaceous former playmate Shauna Sand at any time.

But bumping into her while at Miami Beach just doesn't happen that often. So Miami Beach regulars were surprised to see Shauna strut her stuff in a tiny bikini and get a public butt massage by her much younger boyfriend (at least 20 years younger if not more).

Miss Sand was also accompanied by her three daughters, who apparently are pretty used to seeing their mom frolic with muscular surfer boys. No Shauna Sand nipple slip took place this time, but we're hopeful that with such rough waves, so much titage and such little fabric covering it, it'll happen pretty soon.

Heidi Montag's PB Pictures

Reality-show star Heidi Montag is finally naked (well, almost...) for everyone to see. And we have Playboy to thank for it.

Heidi Montag's Playboy pictures were made public this week when the September edition of the sexy publication was released. In the pictorial, Heidi teases more than pleases, and in the most risqué ¯f the images she appears naked but covering her big boobs with her hands.

The side of her round pantyless butt is also visible but no real bare bottom photos were printed. Same applies for her tits: while in one of the images a hint of Heidi Montag's nipples can be seen thru her fingers, we don't get to enjoy the whole shebang. Still, Heidi looks pretty good in the photos and you can get a pretty good idea of what Spencer Pratt gets to enjoy every night...

Bar Refaeli's Candid Bikini Pictures

Bar Refaeli's latest bikini pictures for Sports Illustrated were leaked yesterday by no other than one of the owners of the famous publication, who posted them on his Twitter.

The candid photos show Bar Refaeli in a series of bikinis while a team of beauty experts work their magic to make one of the world's most gorgeous women even gorgeous-er. Shot in an undisclosed location in the Caribbean (probably to keep the paparazzi away), these images bring us a more relaxed, fun-loving Bar, as she gets ready to pose for the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

After the success that last year's S.I.S.E. achieved (which bore Bar on its cover), no wonder the famous Israeli model will be featured in it again.

While Steven had planned a decent funeral, all hell breaks lose with quirky guests trickling in one by one. Be it his self centered novelist brother Brian (Ashish), his cousin sister Maria (Tulip) with her boyfriend Michael (Aftab) who gets mistakenly doped because of her brother Harry’s (Chunkey) pills, henpecked hubby Carlos (Jaffrey) with his forever suspicious wife Jenny (Kim), a fouled mouthed uncle Murphy (Prem Chopra) and a wannabe model Ayesha (Sophie) who arrives at the wrong place at the wrong time. Adding to Steven’s woes is his wife Nancy (Aarti) who has invited an estate agent Pinto (Vijay Patkar) so that he immediately books a new flat for them. A suspicious visitor, Andrew (Rajpal) intrigues Steven. He is further left shell shocked on Andrew’s revelation that he was his dead father’s gay lover. Andrew demands big money to keep this a secret. What mix ups and chaos follows it and how it all leads to a bigger mess forms the rest of the plot. The makers have already made it clear that it is an official remake of the British comedy Death at a Funeral but in trying to stick too close to the original, the humour doesn’t work every time. Lot of unnecessary characters like that of Vrajesh Hirjee are given unwanted extra screen time and abundant use of toilet (literally) humor leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Imagine Prem Chopra shitting on Javed Jaffrey’s hands and he brandishing it on screen. YUCK!! Aftab’s doped out act appears funny initially, especially when he meets Sunil Shetty’s mom and smooches her. But then it all gets repetitive and boring. The emotional moments at the end, appear forced. The film is supposedly set in Goa but appears to have been shot in Mumbai and surrounding areas. It also constantly gives the feeling of watching a play as most of the things happen in the same house.Sunil Shetty stands out with his act, he is superb when he gives the final speech at the climax. Aftab is fun in the beginning but begins to irritate. Javed Jaffrey is good but Ashish Chowdhary carries the same arch browed expressions throughout the film. Chunkey is fun and so is Vijay Patkar. Rajpal has his moments. Vrajesh Hirjee makes you wish he was better off in the dead man’s coffin instead of grating on our nerves whenever he comes on screen. Sophie reveals her body freely but not her acting talent. Kim Sharma, Tulip and Aarti Chabbria are not bad.Daddy Cool is like an extended joke that goes on and on and doesn’t make you laugh as was intended. There is simply nothing cool about it! Its better we wait for the American remake of the film that’s due to hit next year starring Chris Rock, Luke Wilson and Martin Lawrence.

Katrina did not replace me

Finally Aishwarya has spoken out. At a recent press meet, Ash sought to clear the air about Katrina Kaif replacing her as the brand ambassador of a diamond jewellery brand."I would like to say this loud and clear; I chose not to renew my contract with the jewellery brand. I had a contract with another brand under which that particular jewellers came. Once they parted ways, I decided not to endorse them anymore" she said. While Aishwarya might have set the record straight and refuted any catfights with Katrina, their alleged tiff reached a new high when Katrina bagged the Barbie deal that was reportedly coming Aishwarya's way. Unlike others, marriage doesn’t seem to have slowed her down. “Earlier, it was tough for a heroine to get work after marriage. Their so-called brand value would depreciate. That didn’t happen with me, as I've always aspired to push the envelope,” she explains. But she does not take the credit for this alone. “I have to thank the professionals I’ve worked with. They were not regressive and changed with times,” she says. And unlike other contemporaries, Ash always seems pretty secure and confident of her career. “And why not?” she asks going on to add that, “Throughout my career I’ve never said things like, ‘I’m not ready for marriage now’, or ‘marriage will happen only after five or six years’. When I was ready for marriage, everybody knew. I’ve never given escapist quotes.” But now that she is married into the first family of Bollywood, doesn’t she want to take it slow? “I have a secret pride, you know. I’ve always wanted to work after marriage and I couldn’t see why that should change after I tied the knot,” says Ash, while adding immediately, “Don’t misunderstand me. I’m not a hardcore feminist. I’m a humanist.” Spoken like a queen bee.

I want to be with her," she added.

Katie Price shocks passengers with Dirty Sex denial on flight

Former glamour model Katie Price, a.k.a. Jordan, reportedly shocked fellow passengers on a flight to Spain when she insisted that she did not have "dirty sex" with her cage fighter boyfriend Alex Reid. The 31-year-old disgusted plane passengers by shouting about her sex life during a flight, after she became livid about reports that she and her beau favoured unsavoury bedroom antics, and decided to set the record straight."She was shouting that she and Alex would never be into dirty sex and that they aren't into bondage," Contactmusic quoted a source as saying."She said, 'Do we look like those kind of people?' She was a disgrace. She kept shouting her mouth off - saying, 'My man would never do that!'" the source said.Jordan, who has three children with Andre, was flying with Reid to Malaga, Spain, with a budget airline when the incident took place. Her noisy denials even embarrassed Reid, who unsuccessfully tried to calm her down."She was raging in front of her kids too. Alex was mortified and kept telling her to stop shouting about their private issues," the source told thisislondon.co.uk."She was saying he was such a considerate man and not the filthbag he was being portrayed as."Everyone on the plane was staring at her as she let rip about his sex life. Mischa Barton turns up all smiles at Ronsons' bash

Mischa Barton came up trumps at the Ronson twins' weekend bash in New York. Barton, whose recent mental health has been a matter of concern, was all smiles and vitality as she attended the shindig for the I (Heart) Ronson clothing line put out by DJ Samantha Ronson and her sister Charlotte. UK television presenter Alexa Chung and actress Hilary Duff were guests for the Chelsea Piers event, while Lindsay Lohan was not. Lohan is Samantha Ronson's on-again, off-again partner. Barton, who jumped straight from psychiatric treatment into work in New York on The Beautiful Life, arrived at the Ronson do with a pal, actress Ashley Madekwe. The pair are co-stars in the Ashton Kutcher-produced story of models trying to make it in New York. Barton's quick return to work had some friends concerned. One said: "It's only been a matter of days since she was released from the hospital, and I think she definitely wasn't there long enough. She needs to be very cautious - she's at a very big risk." But for now Barton appears to be getting by with the help of her friends.

My Nudes Are Better Than Yours! Aubrey V. Heidi

Never passing up an opportunity to whore herself out to the press, Aubrey O'Day has let it be known that she thinks Heidi Montag's Playboy pictorial was not risque enough!

Compared to her own, of course.

O'Day says Heidi's a "beautiful girl" but Skanky's Playboy pics expressed her "nature as a woman" far better than Heidi's!

Sure, Montag didn't bare all, but we'd much rather see sideboob from Heidi than your tittays, sweetie!

And, of course, Aubrey offered up some "advice" for The Hills star, if she decides to pose for the men's mag again!

"I'd say … to just take that risk, really do something kind of … maybe do something she's a little scared to do, so she overcomes a fear and feels really proud," preached the former Danity Kane member.

She continued rambling: "You know, you can take a million pretty pictures, every celebrity girl has taken a million pretty pictures, but it's like: Which pictures are really going to stand out and be iconic, and which pictures are just pretty pictures that are here today, gone tomorrow?"

Because Aubrey's Playboy spread was so iconic!

Tits are tits!

Eternity With Marilyn Monroe: Sold for $4.6M

The L.A. Times and others are reporting that a woman auctioned off a particularly valuable but small piece of California real estate today. Elsie Poncher sold the crypt where her husband is currently interred, which happens to be directly above the final resting place of Marilyn Monroe.
Bidding started at $500,000 and closed today around noon EDT for $4,602,100.

That seems a bit high to us. We could understand paying that much if you wanted to be placed in the same crypt as Marilyn, but above her? There’s probably at least a few inches of metal and concrete separating you and your love goddess. You’d be spending eternity so close yet so far. Pure torture.
Not to mention the fact that Hugh Hefner is supposed to be buried right next to her, which means you’re probably going to have to endure frequent visits from a stream of buxom, platinum blonde, aging centerfold/bad reality show stars.

But you know who really gets the raw deal here? Ms. Poncher’s husband.
Richard F. Poncher was such a fan of Marilyn’s that he went out of his way to secure the crypt above hers (he bought the plot from Joe DiMaggio when he was in the middle of divorcing the diva in 1954). Furthermore, it is said that at his funeral in 1986, a group of his friends waited for everyone to leave and then turned his body over, so that for all eternity he would be lying face down on top of his idol.

Elsie Poncher confirmed the legend in the LA Times today.

“She said that when her husband was dying, he made a request. ‘He said, ’If I croak, if you don’t put me upside down over Marilyn, I’ll haunt you the rest of my life.’ Right after the funeral, Elsie said, she conveyed her husband’s wish to the funeral director. ‘I was standing right there, and he turned him over,’ she said.”

Elsie Poncher decided to sell the crypt to pay off a $1.6 million mortgage on her Beverly Hills home. She’ll move her husband to the crypt next to his current resting place (which he also bought from DiMaggio) and when the time comes she’ll be cremated.

It’s easy to understand why she doesn’t want to be buried with her husband under the circumstances. Not only would she have to play second fiddle to Marilyn, but Richard is bound to be plenty ticked off about being moved and who wants to spend eternity arguing? Although we understand his beef. He paid for eternity. All he got was 23 years.

Police investigate Lohan break-in

Los Angeles police are investigating after Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan's home was broken into for the second time in three months.

Police said the Hollywood Hills home was burgled on Sunday morning while the 23-year-old and her younger sister, Ali Lohan, were out.

A statement from her publicist said many of Lohan's personal belongings were taken "without remorse".

No arrests have yet been made in connection with either incident.

Publicist Leslie Sloane-Zelnik added that police had been given the security surveillance video from Lohan's home.

Celebrity news website TMZ reported that the actress found the house had been broken into after coming home at about 0300 local time and called her father, Michael Lohan, who called the police.

Mr Lohan told TMZ that a safe was ripped off a wall in the home and that a couple of watches had been taken.

Police said a previous burglary attempt was reported at Lohan's home in May.

It had been reported the suspects in that incident were apparently frightened off by the alarm, but were captured on videotape trying to gain entry.

Katona cautioned for possession

Reality TV star Kerry Katona has been cautioned by police for possessing a controlled substance.
Katona attended Wilmslow police station near her home in Cheshire after she was filmed by a Sunday newspaper snorting what appeared to be cocaine.
A Cheshire police spokeswoman confirmed following an investigation, a 28-year-old woman had been cautioned on Monday.
Katona told the Sunday Mirror she was "sorry and so ashamed" of her actions in relation to the allegations.

"It was a moment of weakness and stupidity and I regret it terribly," she said, although refused to comment on the nature of the drugs.

Contract axed
Following the publication of the allegations in the News of the World, supermarket Iceland dropped her as the face of its advertising campaigns.

The loss of the lucrative contract came as a blow to her, Katona said, after she was made bankrupt last year and has been left with huge debts.

The former Atomic Kitten singer has endured a long and public battle with alcohol and drugs, however the mother of four denied she had a problem with substance abuse.

"I'm not a drug addict. I don't wake up and think I need drugs. But I know that I have to get some help to make sure I never take drugs again," she said.

Milla Jovovich weds Paul W.S. Anderson

Congratulations are in order to actress Milla Jovovich and sci-fi auteur Paul W.S. Anderson, who, People.com informs me, got hitched last night in a small sunset ceremony at their Beverly Hills home. The couple met when Anderson was directing Jovovich in 2002’s Resident Evil, which researchers believe may be the first time that a successful real-life romance has resulted from a movie based on a video game about zombies.

In addition to those warm congratulations, I should also offer a brief apology-slash-cautionary tale: When I first read this headline, I thought for a second that it said Jovovich had married There Will Be Blood’s Paul Thomas Anderson, and I was all, “How could he do Maya Rudolph like that?!” Needless to say, Paul W.S. Anderson and Paul Thomas Anderson are in fact two completely distinct people who happen to share an occupation and a near-identical name. They probably get that a lot. Sorry, dudes!

So, don’t make the same mistake I did. Know your Paul Andersons. And share your well-wishes for Jovovich and Paul W.S. Anderson in the comments below.

The drama queen comes up with another excuse to not marry

The drama is not over yet. She was the modern-day princess choosing her groom on national television, but after taking the decision her mind is clouded by serious doubts. Rakhi Sawant is extremely confused if she wants to tie the knot with her man Elesh Parujanwala or not.

The hot babe seems to be coming up with one bahanadesi item girl. The next reason - he is not financially independent and can’t even earn a “proper living”.

Now, the lady claims that Elesh can’t cope with her sexy image. The hot item girl was quoted as saying, “On the internet they’ve morphed my face on naked bodies. Would Elesh be able to tolerate it?” She is famous for her sexy tag and every one knows about it, but Rakhi is unsure about Elesh’s reaction to her sizzling pictures available on net.

Rakhi doesn’t even want Elesh to be known as Rakhi Sawant’s husband just like her previous beau Abhishek Awasthi, who was better known as Rakhi Sawant’s boyfriend. One thing about which Rakhi is dead sure is that she doesn’t want another hen-pecked lover like Abhishek in her life. Elesh, who is a Toronto-based businessman and doesn’t have a house in Mumbai has to first earn a decent living and then only she will marry him. Until then, she will wait and may be find out further reasons not to marry him.

The couple is going to participate in another reality show ‘Pati, Patni Aur Woh’ that starts next month.

Miss Universe says crown fulfills lifelong dream

NASSAU, Bahamas - The 2009 Miss Universe says her title fulfills a lifelong dream — and an improbable one for a girl who finished last in one of her first beauty pageants.

Stefania Fernandez, an 18-year-old Venezuelan, said Monday in an interview with The Associated Press that despite the rocky start, she continued competing in order to keep busy.

"I don't like to be at home doing nothing," Fernandez said. "I entered the world of 'misses,' and by chance life kept rewarding me bit by bit."

She moved from her hometown of Merida to the city of San Cristobal two years ago to pursue her increasingly successful pageant career, which culminated Sunday night when she edged the runner-up from the Dominican Republic to become the new Miss Universe.

Fernandez's win made Venezuela the first country to claim the title two years in a row, after Dayana Mendoza was crowned in 2008. She is also the sixth Miss Universe from the beauty-obsessed South American nation.

"Imagine what this means to me," said Fernandez, who wore a flowing green summer dress and gold-hoop earrings to the interview. "I'm making history in my country."

She said she does not expect that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez — who did not congratulate Mendoza last year — will praise her as other leaders have done with winners from their countries. But perhaps fittingly for a beauty queen, she offered a diplomatic answer when asked her opinion of the socialist leader's policies.

"I think they are extreme measures, but I trust that little by little, Venezuelans will start understanding each other and try to make the country better. We are trying to communicate more with each other."

Fernandez will spend the next year traveling the world as an ambassador for the pageant, lending her celebrity to causes such as AIDS awareness.

Afterward she plans to go to college and specialize in communications, and is also interested in pursuing English and French.

"My house is covered with photos of me from Miss Venezuela and Miss Universe," Fernandez said. "But I promised my dad that my university degree would be up there too."

Brad Pitt desperately wants to leave Angelina

Brad Pitt desperately wants to leave Angelina Jolie and family life, it has emerged. The Hollywood star, who raises 6 children with the stunner, apparently wants to live life as a bachelor, reports The Daily Telegraph.

"He can't let go of his bachelor lifestyle," a source told Britain's Now magazine.

"He's even looking at luxury flats in the Hollywood Hills to escape the kids and Angelina Jolie," the source added.

According to the source, it's the couple's PR machine which is keeping them together.

"Angelina and her manager Geyer Kosinski carefully control her image," explains the source. "When Brad dumped Jen, to stop Angelina looking like the scarlet woman she was flown to Pakistan and pictured helping refugees.

"When she sold the first photos of the twins to People magazine, it had to highlight her missionary work. She sometimes asks Brad what he thinks, but he's mostly seen and not heard," the insider added.

Venezuela Wins Again! Miss Universe 2009

NASSAU, Bahamas — Miss Venezuela was the fairest of them all, again.Venezuelan Stefania Fernandez won the 2009 Miss Universe pageant in the Bahamas on Sunday night.Dressed in a flowing red gown, Fernandez embraced runner up Miss Dominican Republic as the announcement was made, and received the crown from last year's winner, Dayana Mendoza, of Venezuela. The sparkling tiara fell to the floor at one point, as Fernandez danced in joy.

Venezuela, a beauty-obsessed South American country, has won the Miss Universe pageant six times.During a question-and-answer segment with the five top finalists, Fernandez said she believed women have overcome obstacles such as hitting the proverbial glass ceiling."I feel we have reached the level that men are at," she said. The other top-five finalists were runner-up Ada Aimee de la Cruz, followed by Miss Kosovo, Droga Ganusha; Miss Australia, Rachael Finch; and Miss Puerto Rico, Mayra Matos Perez. The top 15 finalists appeared in bathing suits before the final 10 were chosen for the evening gown segment.

Pageant co-owner Donald Trump told reporters, "I think this is the most beautiful group of women I've ever seen."The televised event includes musical performances by Flo Rida, Heidi Montag, David Guetta and Kelly Rowland.Montag gave her first live performance, singing "Body Language" from her debut album.Fans cheered on the blond star of MTV's "The Hills," although NBC, which is broadcasting the event in the Bahamas live, blocked out more than half of her performance as they introduced the 15 finalists.

"It's my first performance live and it's in front of a billion eyes. So I'm very excited to show everyone what I'm coming with," said Montag before her performance.Hosts were Billy Bush, co-anchor of " Access Hollywood," and Claudia Jordan, a former Miss Rhode Island USA who has appeared on several TV shows. Judges included actor Dean Cain and supermodel Valeria Mazza.Miss China, Wang Jingyao, was named Miss Congeniality and Miss Thailand, Chutima Durongdej, won Miss Photogenic.

Many contestants have suffered from dehydration in recent weeks, and Jewel Selver, Miss Turks and Caicos, went home Saturday to recuperate, said Esther Swan, Miss Universe spokeswoman.

Can Elesh tolerate my nude pictures?

Rakhi Sawant goes into her second reality show from Wednesday. It’s a show about parenting with Rakhi and Elesh playing mother and father.

There’s one hitch. Babies give Rakhi a headache. “I’ve a migraine problem. When a child cries I get a severe headache. I don’t know how I’ll manage for a month with a stranger’s child. On top of that I’ve to cook on the show. I can’t cook to save my life.”

Ask her how she will cope when she has her own kids and Rakhi retorts, “Apna bachcha to har koi paal leta hai, jaanwar bhi. I don’t know how I’ll cope. I think I’m going to lose my cool completely.

So far people have only seen the good Rakhi Sawant. Now they’ll see the real me.Elesh returned from his sisters wedding on Tuesday night. We enter the show from Wednesday.

I don’t know how I’ll manage. This show is already giving me a headache. I can’t even use makeup. Can you imagine Rakhi Sawant without makeup?”

Rakhi was supposed to visit her reality-show fiancé Elesh’s home -town in Toronto. “But I couldn’t get a visa from the US to Canada. I had to really get pushed around for my US visa. It was impossible to get a visa from the US to Canada.

Elesh’s family was very keen to have him over. They came for my Swayamvar all the way to Mumbai. And I couldn’t for for them. But no problem. As soon as my new reality show Pati Patni Aur Woe is over I’ll visit his family in Toronto with Elesh.”

Rakhi says she’ll marry Elesh only when he becomes economically self sufficient. “It’s my life and a decision like marriage should be left to me only. Elesh may be the best person in the world. But he may not be be the best person for me.

I don’t want him to be another Abhishek Awasthi in my life. Yes, we’re engaged. I like him a lot. But how can I hand over my life to someone who isn’t earning a proper living? That’s why we’re going on another reality show to see whether we’re really as compatible as we seemed on Rakhi Ka Swayamvar.

I didn’t get enough time on him on that show. You and I saw his best face. Now I want to see the real Elesh.I want to marry a man who can support me. When we go to a restaurant he should pay the bill, not me.

In India wives are supposed to be looked after by husbands, not viceversa. He has seen how I live. I don’t want him to come and stay in my house I want to live in his house. I will wait for him to afford a house. I will wait.”

Rakhi is specially worried about Elesh accepting her sexy image. “On the internet they’ve morphed my face on naked bodies. Would Elesh be able to tolerate it? He’s broad-minded, yes. But God knows what he’d be like after marriage.”

She bursts into tears. “Mere dil mein bahut taqleef hai. Will Elesh be able to support me financially? I don’t want him to be known as Rakhi Sawant’s husband. Mujhe waqt chahiye. I feel I’m stuck in a stormy ocean.

I can’t climb the cross just to please public. I agree Elesh is educated and he comes from a wealthy family. But all of it belongs to his father He has nothing of his own in Mumbai, not even a home.

He needs time to settle down. In the meanwhile people are spreading dirty rumours about me. Ek insaan kitna bardaasht kare?”

Rakhi is disgusted by singer Mika’s attempts to make mileage out of her name. “I’m really tired of people using my name. I don’t want to give such people more importance. I’ve learnt the hard way how to be dignified.

Jesus has taught me to be calm. My good days are just beginning. Let me remind these publicity seekers that short cuts don’t get you anywhere.”

Rakhi says she’s going through a lot of trurmoil. “They are writing all kinds of things making up all kinds of quotes about Elesh on my behalf. They’re all taking advantage of me. I’m being used for publicity by so many people. Why are people doing these things with me? Jesus knows how much I’m suffering.”

Speaking on her former boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi Rakhi says, “I still consider him my good friend. I hope and pray he finds a good girl to marry.

If ever in life he needs me I’ll always be there. If needs me to be a dance partner in a reality show I’ll gladly do the needful. He has supported me a lot. I’ll always be thankful to him for getting my mother out of my life. That’s one good deed he did.

If Abhishek hadn’t been there I’d have not had the courage to break away from my family. I’d have been wallowing in mud. Aaj Rakhi Swant nahin hoti. I’d have been something else. I can’t even say what I’d have been.”

Rakhi thinks her good days have started. “I know Elesh is a decent guy. But is that enough? He has be financially independent. He needed a place and a face to latch on to, that’s why he came on the show. Abhishek Awasthi was so decent. But he was know as Rakhi’s boyfriend.”

::: Shadow :::

Powered by: Chakpak.com Shadow

First things first! Before we dissect the film, discuss its merits and demerits, discuss whether it worked or not and offer reasons, let's salute the grit, determination, willpower and courage of Nasser Khan, who enacts the role of the protagonist in Shadow.

Imagine a blind person carrying off those hazardous, death-defying stunts... Just that effort deserves an applause.

Now let's come to the point. Shadow is more of a showreel to project the acting abilities of Nasser Khan, so, expectedly, the writing takes a backseat. The screenplay is very '70s and '80s, reminiscent of the masala films we enjoyed so much then. It's just that times have changed and so have the tastes of a big chunk of moviegoers.

Yet, there's no denying that there still exists a sizable chunk of movie-going audience that relishes masala films and Shadow is targeted at them.

The police have not been able to crack a serial murder case. Arjun Sherawat [Nasser Khan] is a man who is unseen and is the criminal. No one knows his identity. This case has been granted to Sanjana [Sonali Kulkarni], a police officer. She has been trying too hard, but all her efforts have been in vain.

Sheetal [Hrishitaa Bhatt] is a press reporter who loves her profession to the core. She works with a news channel and has information about the case as she follows it very closely.

Rahul [Milind Soman], a press reporter from another news channel, has also been following the case step by step. He constantly keeps nagging Sanjana about the case by questioning her from time to time.

Murders are still being committed at short intervals. Meanwhile, Sheetal passes a crucial information to police about the next target of Arjun Sherawat. But Arjun Sherawat meets with an accident and is presumed dead.

Everyone is in a joyous mood until they hear Arjun Sherawat's latest audio clip, which states that he will kidnap a famous builder Habeeb Faizal [Mushtaq Khan] in front of the police on a given date.

Everyone is stunned on hearing this. Meanwhile, Arjun Sherawat succeeds in kidnapping Habeeb Faizal. What happens next?

In an effort to showcase the heroic abilities of Nasser Khan, the writers throw logic out of the window while writing the scenes. The film holds your attention in the initial reels, but goes haywire in the second half. The romantic track between Nasser and Sonali is the weakest link in the narrative. So is the climax, which just doesn't work.

At the same time, the stunts and also a few individualistic sequences are deftly executed. Plus, the musical score [Anand Raaj Anand] is the type that caters to the masses and fits well for this genre.

Rohit Nayyar's shot compositions are perfect. Plus, technically speaking, it's a polished job. However, the writing lets him down at places. Cinematography is good. The stunts deserve special mention.

Nasser Khan is not an actor and though this is evident in several sequences, you don't really complain because you haven't come to watch the histrionics in any case. It's the curiosity factor that has drawn you towards this film, right?

Milind Soman gives a good account of himself. Sonali Kulkarni looks grossly over-weight, but does well nonetheless. However, what was the need to make her do an item song? Hrishitaa Bhatt and Samir Aftab get minimal scope.

Sachin Khedekar enacts the mandatory villain's part with ease. Vishwajeet Pradhan and Mushtaq Khan are commendable.

On the whole, Shadow caters more to the hardcore masses mainly. A film for single screens!

Alicia Silverstone loves to garden in the nude

American actress Alicia Silverstone has revealed that she loves to tend her garden in the nude.

Buzz up!Silverstone, 32, revealed to Health magazine that her affinity for getting naked probably started when she was doing her garden the first time.

“I’d be out there, and it would be scorching hot, so I would take off all of my clothes and garden. And then I would jump in the pool and swim - and I always get in the pool naked,” the New York Post quoted her as saying.

The actress further revealed that she used to spend a lot of time with actor Woody Harrelson, who also loves to get naked.

“I used to spend a lot of time with Woody Harrelson, and he’s not afraid to get naked,” she added.

Jennifer Hawkins`s Swarovksi bikini slip-up

Former Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkins was left embarrassed after she suffered a wardrobe malfunction during a swimwear fashion parade.

The 25-year-old Aussie beauty was a wearing a custom-made Swarovksi crystal bikini from her swimwear line Cozi for a Myer fashion parade while rehearsing with a pack of male models, when her top slipped.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Hawkins was left wearing nothing but a red G-string, reports News.com.au.

Her latest slip up was reminiscent of her 2004 Westfield Miranda catwalk catastrophe. However, the original Myer Spring/Summer Launch at Carriageworks in Sydney''s Redfern went off without a hitch.

Guests including Lara Bingle, Dannii Minogue and Guy Sebastian attended the show at Carriageworks in which 70 models showcased 40 brands stocked by Myer including Nicola Finetti, Maticevski, Wayne Cooper and Charlie Brown.

:::: Sikandar ::::

Powered by: Chakpak.comSikandar

Sikandar opens with the innocence of a child but complicates itself with the politics of Kashmir and astuteness of characters, as it progresses.

Sikandar (Parzan Dastur) is a Kashmiri teenager who enjoys playing football until he gets heroic kicks from toting a pistol that he finds abandoned across the street. While his new school friend Nasreen (Ayesha Kapoor) discourages him from his gun-fantasy, Sikandar still becomes an innocent victim between the jehadis (Arunoday Singh), army (R Madhavan), peace bartering politicians (Sanjay Suri) and the religious heads of the Kashmiri town.

The film attempts to be a suspense thriller under the garb of social drama. But somewhere the suspense treatment is marred with too many loopholes while the social theme is too shallow. Though it had good scope, the narrative doesn’t delve deep into the history of Kashmir leaving its characters one-dimensional. With the Kashmir issue being blared up in dailies, one is expected to have a basic understanding of the political backdrop.

Nevertheless, director Piyush Jha delivers tender moments in expressing the young boy’s new-found machismo when he gets hold of the gun. He goes on to highlight how young minds are influenced with the glorified image of jehadis (militants). However, brainwashing innocent minds to killings, in lure of washing machine, sounds too far-fetched. The revelation in the pre-climax is impressive but the end leaves you craving for a lot more of conviction and clarification. The subtlety leaves you kind of flummoxed.

Somak Mukherjee’s cinematography beautifully captures the serene scenic bylanes of actual Kashmir land. The pacing is slow and the editing could have been much crisper. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s music is soothing but Justin-Uday’s background score dominated by Arabic overtones struggles too hard to gain your attention.

Performances are dramatized with unwanted accents. Parzan Dastur is decent in the title role. Ayesha Kapoor isn’t bad but, at times, still seems to be in the Black hangover with her accentuated expressions and equally stressed dialogue delivery (or was her voice dubbed?). Sanjay Suri comes up with a restrained act. Arunoday Singh and Madhavan are good but don’t have too much to do.

Sikandar does strike a goal though loses its audience now and then.
