'Rockstar' earns Rs.11 crore plus on opening day

Ranbir Kapoor starrer “Rockstar” has got off to a flying start with the film managing to earn Rs.11 crore plus on the opening day itself.

Directed by director Imtiaz Ali, known for making films like "Jab We Met" and "Love Aaj Kal", the story revolves around a Jat boy who aspires to become a famous rockstar like Jim Morrison.

The interesting pairing of Ranbir and Nargis Fakri topped with melodious music by A.R. Rahman has managed to draw in the crowds.

According to a press release, the film has managed to earn Rs. 11.25 crore plus on the opening day Friday, across all cinemas in India.

Even though the film has received a mixed response at the box-office, Ranbir's performance has been appreciated by everyone - audience and the critics.

Co-produced by Eros International and Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision, the film was made on a budget of more than Rs.60 crore and has been extensively shot in Delhi in locations like St. Stephen's College, Connaught Place and Nizamuddin, among others.

Ranbir Kapoor shoots for ROCKSTAR in Kashmir

The scenic beauty of Kashmir Valley has once again attracted the attention of Bollywood stars. Actor Ranbir Kapoor is busy in shooting for his film ROCKSTAR at Pahalgam. Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, the film's actress Nargis and director Imtiaz Ali were also spotted at the tourist destination Pahalgam.

Production Controller Mahesh said that Valley is known for its beauty and it is very cheap to shoot here as the film unit doesn't require any artificial set. He said due to unconducive atmosphere, Bollywood stars are reluctant to come over here, but the situation has changed a lot.

Large number of people arrived at Pahalgam to have a glimpse of the stars present there. Incidentally, Ranbir's father Rishi Kapoor had shot his first film as a hero BOBBY in Kashmir as well.
