Sex And The City bounces back

Most people have a love-hate relationship with the four candid and independent women of the television series “Sex And The City” (SATC). However, the high ratings of this quirky Home Box Office (HBO) venture have kick-started a chain of film and television adaptations of the original TV programme which aired from 1998 to 2004 .

Rumours of a prequel series of “SATC” had been making rounds for three years, with updates on the revamped version of the television show first reported in 2008. Finally in 2011, deadline.com confirms that “SATC” prequel, “The Carrie Diaries”, is indeed set to go into production as a TV series on channel CW.
According to deadline.com, “The Carrie Diaries” is a TV series project based on Sex And The City author Candace Bushnell’s recent book, The Carrie Diaries, about Carrie Bradshaw’s high school years.
Producers of “The Carrie Diaries” have asked former “SATC” show writer Amy Harris to join the team, and “Gossip Girl” executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage have been tapped to assist in the production of the new TV series.

Currently, neither Sarah Jessica Parker nor Darren Star — both of whom produced “Sex And The City” on HBO — are involved in the project. And while it has been reported that “Gossip Girl’s” Blake Lively and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s little sister Elizabeth will star in the series, this has not been confirmed reports dailymail.co.uk.

Considering the lukewarm success of the SATC films (released in 2008 and 2010), one should not keep unreasonably high hopes from this project, but for now the anticipation of yet another shot at “SATC” is enough to keep fans happy. Source

Davis voted most appealing 'SATC' female

Kristin Davis's Sex And The City character has been voted the most alluring female in the franchise.

Conservative art dealer Charlotte topped the poll, conducted by Princer Vodka to mark the forthcoming movie sequel.

Maneater Samantha Jones, played by Kim Cattrall, came second, while Cynthia Nixon's lawyer Miranda Hobbes came third. Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, was last.

Pincer Vodka CEO Jonathan Engels said of the survey: "We were stunned with the outcome of the poll, and we suspect Sarah Jessica Parker might need more than one Cosmopolitan to drown her sorrows."

Sex and the City scenes were easier: Parker

American actress Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed that she finds sex scenes in ‘Sex and the City’ far easier to perform than the ones in cafes and restaurants.

Parker, 44, who plays fashion fan Carrie Bradshaw in the TV series, does not like filming scenes in coffee shops as she has to appear so natural and fun on camera.

Most of the scenes revolve around Bradshaw and her three friends, played by Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, and the scenes are mostly shot in cafes and restaurants.

“It’s those little scenes. Nothing is harder than a coffee shop scene in Sex and The City,” the Herald Sun quoted her as saying.

“That’s the truth. I don’t know why but they are the hardest,” she added.
