Terry's dad admits to dealing cocaine

John Terry's father Edward has pleaded guilty to supplying a class A drug.

The former England football captain's 56-year-old dad appeared at Basildon Magistrates' Court today on charges of dealing cocaine.

It was alleged that Edward supplied the drug to an undercover reporter at the Chafford Hundred wine bar last year. He was paid £160 by News Of The World journalist Dan Sanderson.

His legal representative Neil Saunders said that he had been targeted by the newspaper because of his famous son. Saunders also claimed that his client was "embarrassed" by the incident.

Edward only spoke to confirm his details and plea. He has been released on bail.

The sentencing will be given at Basildon Crown Court on June 1.
