Veteran actor William Shatner has ruled out the possibility of reprising his role of Captain James T. Kirk in the next Star Trek movie.
The 79-year-old was left infuriated when he was left out of last year's revamped movie, which starred Chris Pine as a younger version of his character.
Shatner had previously said he would convince his pal and Star Trek director J.J. Abrams to feature him in the next instalment, but the star has now accepted it would be too difficult, reports contactmusic.com.
"I've become a buddy of J.J., but I don't know if they can solve the problem of how you put the body I'm in now with the Kirk that we remember from 40 years ago," he said.
