Marilyn Monroe's letter fetches USD 52460 in auction

The reign of Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe still persists and this was proved once again as hand-written letter of the yesteryear actor fetched USD 52,460 in an auction conducted recently.

The letter was written by a newly married Monroe in the year 1942 to her foster mother Grace Goddard and narrated her life as a married woman.

The newly-married 16-year-old Monroe described that how her husband James Dougherty used to keep her busy with the regular house hold chores, but pampered her a lot as well.

The envelope of the eight-page letter with ‘Norma’ signed on it had a postage stamp which mentioned that the letter was sent by Monroe from Van Nuys area of California.

Monroe had later married Joe DiMaggio and renowned author Arthur Miller.
